Functions and Applications
According to DIN VDE 0675, Part 6 (Draft 11.89) A1, A2 requirements, the surge protector V 20-C is a Class C surge protective device. It protects electrical equipment from various voltage surges. Available models range from single-module to 4-module configurations.
Model V 20-C/3+NPE (Class C) is specifically designed for TN-C-S, TN-S, TT, and IT systems. This protector meets the new requirements of DIN VDE 0100, Part 534/A1 and enables simple, safe installation.
V 20-C contains a zinc oxide varistor with high nonlinear characteristics (α＞30). The device features short response time, low protection level, high flow capacity, and long service life. Particularly, no follow current occurs after lightning surge passes through the protector.
If the surge protector is damaged due to overload, the built-in disconnecting device will activate promptly to disconnect from the power supply, while the fault indicator window changes color from green to red.
Installation
V 20-C can be easily installed on 35 mm mounting rails in any distribution box or switch cabinet. Multi-module protectors are pre-connected with built-in grounding jumpers at the factory, requiring only a single PE connection. The clever design between the NPE protection module C 25-B+C/NPE and the base prevents reverse insertion, ensuring correct installation of protector modules.
